Exercise Physiologist and Founder of Movement&Co

Claire is married with three young children. She is a passionate and firm believer that exercise has to be fun to be maintainable. She ensures that classes are free from judgement, relaxed and above all full of laughter.

Claire is an Exercise Physiologist specialising in rehabilitation and has over 20 years experience within the physiology field and also currently lectures at the University of Worcester.

Claire's previous positions include working with the US Ski Team, Australian Olympic Gymnastics and management roles within the pharma industry. As an Exercise Physiologist and practicing Sports Psychologist, she has worked closely with health care professionals and helped treat a range of patients with chronic diseases such as CHD, Diabetes, Arthritis and Osteoporosis.

As a professional Exercise physiologist and kinesiologist, the focus is on understanding the physiological responses and adaptations of the human body to physical activity.

The discipline examines how exercise influences the functions of various bodily systems, including the cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular, and nervous systems.

Kinesiology incorporates principles from biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, psychology, and neuroscience.  Exercise physiology is a subset of kinesiology that specifically looks at how the body responds to the stresses of physical activity and how it adapts over time with consistent exercise.

Claire is trained in Calisthenics which is a form of exercise involving bodyweight movements, it is a practical application of exercise physiology principles.  It emphasizes the development of strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination without the need for specialized equipment.  Understanding exercise physiology helps optimizing calisthenic routines for improving physical performance and ensuring safe practices to prevent injuries.

This integrated approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of how to improv physical fitness and health through scientifically backed exercise strategies.

In addition, Claire is a trained life coach and has extensive experience in the field of sport and exercise psychology helping people overcome obesity, fear of failure and other mental skill concerns.  She is passionate that Pilates is a type of exercise for everyone and seen incredible results time and time again. Claire teaches a variety of classes including Mat Pilates and Reformer pilates. Whether you are in your teens or 90s you can enjoy and benefit hugely from this type of movement

Emma trained as a professional ballet dancer at The Birmingham Royal Ballet for 6 years and it was on this journey that she was introduced to yoga as a form of strength training through Ambra Vallo.

The time she spent with Ambra was transformational beyond measure, in ways that unlocked her desire to set herself free from self-doubt and follow her longing for a life embodying yoga.

She has practiced many forms of yoga over the years including Ashtanga, Rocket, Jivamukti, Kundalini, Iyengar but the dancer within found her home in the beautiful and strong practices of Dharma and Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

Her classes are graceful, challenging and inspired by the devotional, heart opening practice of Dharma. There is a reason that you are here in this place, at this time.

Emma’s classes inspire you to delve within and focus on your desire for personal meaning with powerful Vinyasa Flow Classes centred around heart opening, twisting and a touch of the unknown. With a passion for strength and conditioning, her classes aim to increase physical awareness and pure strength to unlock the ease of flow that yoga practitioners yearn for.

Pilates Instructor

This is Elizabeth she is on the Matt Pilates team and will join the Reformer team soon.

Originally from Sydney, Elizabeth moved to The Cotswolds in 2018.  She spent many years in the corporate world in various Marketing roles then Real Estate before deciding to make her interest in fitness and wellness a profession.  Elizabeth is a qualified Matt Pilates instructor and will soon join Claire and Laura in teaching Reformer classes. What amazed me about Pilates is its adaptability, its somewhat bespoke to each participant, unlike other forms of exercise.  You can start small and develop your practice individually within a group class setting whilst also being inspired by those around you.
