About the event

Recent research reveals that participation in Pilates exercise may enhance health and ability to live independently after menopause. This 4 week program will help improve strength and flexibility, stress relief, improve pelvic floor muscles. You will then be able to continue Pilates at any of our classes we offer through the week.

You will also get free access to the GP workshop to talk about Menopause and preimenopause, with questions and answers at the end with Dr Alice Oldroyd.

 Dr Alice Oldroyd

MBChB(Hons) MRCGP MRCOG

GP and Menopause Specialist

Dr Oldroyd is part of the Newson Health team  completely dedicated to perimenopause and menopause. She is passionate about improving education about the perimenopause and menopause and improving awareness of safe prescribing of HRT to healthcare professionals. Women, and trans and non-binary people, have been suffering with the menopause hormone deficiency for decades and it’s time to put this right. You do not need to put up with debilitating symptoms that affect your daily life, work, relationships and your future health. There is safe, low-cost, effective treatment available, and everybody should know about this and have access to it, should they wish.

Alice graduated from Liverpool University in 2007 and has since moved back to the Midlands to be closer to her family. From an early stage in her career, Alice has had a keen interest in women’s health, completing her DRCOG (diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and DFSRH (diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare) prior to completing her General Practice training.  After attending a training session led by Dr Louise Newson at the Royal College of GP’s in 2017, she was keen to develop this interest further.  She is a member of the British Menopause Society and has completed the Fourteen Fish Confidence in Menopause course.

Alice is passionate about improving services for women and raising awareness of the challenges faced by women with menopausal symptoms.  She firmly believes that women deserve a holistic assessment, and to be educated on the treatment options, not only for their current symptoms but also their future health to empower them to make informed choices.

Outside of work Alice enjoys spending time up in the Malvern Hills with her two girls, husband, and dog Bailey.
